Dinner & A Movie: Sushi With Godzilla

Dinner & A Movie: Sushi With Godzilla

October is my favorite Dinner and a Movie month because I love all those 1930-1950s scary movies like Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolfman. However, this year I’ve decided that I want to have a Monster Movie theme. Yes, Dracula and Frankenstein are monsters in their human-like way, but I want monster monsters!

So, I’m going to kick off Halloween month with a Monster Movie Fest!

#1 is one of my all-time favorite monsters, Godzilla! And I don’t mean the new, slick, CG Godzilla. I mean the man in the rubber suit stomping a model of Tokyo Godzilla!

There are many, many Godzilla movies to choose from and here are a few of my suggestions:

  1. Ishiro Honda’s 1954 Godzilla  is like the origin story of Godzilla. 2. Ishiro Honda’s 1964 Mothra vs Godzilla is on my favorite list because I love Mothra and the singing twins! 3. Ishiro Honda’s 1968 Destroy All Monsters is great because it brings together ALL the monsters!

And to kick off your Monster Movie Fest may I suggest that you grab some sushi take-out and make your dinner easy and quick! I mean Japanese sushi is only right, right? Seems like sushi is everywhere, even in convenience stores, so it should be easy to find. Just be careful!

If you must make it yourself, here’s a recipe for a Godzilla Roll you can make at home!
