Grandboy #3 just turned 1 year old. His mom, my daughter gave him a simply sweet family party which suited our sweet, gentle Judah Bean just right.
His Mom wanted a simple white “naked” cake for his smash cake so she could put a watercolor bear and a few strands of greenery on top. So, that’s what we did. I made the cake and she painted the bear.
I had seen a beautiful and delicious Berry Chantilly Cake at Whole Foods that I suggested we serve since we were just having family and didn’t need to feed a thousand people. It was quite lovely.
She had all of Judah’s favorite foods for a family brunch. Everything was bite-sized just like Judah likes it. Chicken and waffles, fruit platter, quiche, sausage balls, vanilla wafer with peanut butter and banana bites, and yogurt and granola parfaits. Friend Sammy made her famous Southern Sweet Tea which was a hit!
A few simple decorations added to the small, intimate family celebration.
Judah got some precious gifts.
